YUI is an advanced Javascript and CSS framework. The behavioral layer of Dark Matter Pro is powered by this framework. It's recommended to load YUI assets from the Yahoo! servers because this results in much better performance. The files are however included with Dark Matter Pro and if you wish to do so, you can change the templates to load them from your own server.
Dark Matter Pro is the product of months of hard work. In addition to that I'm dedicated to maintain it very well. I believe it's fair to charge a modest amount of compensation for it. While I could have been doing client work in these months I decided to try something else and deliver a high quality product to put 'out there' to see if people are willing to pay a bit of money for it. I believe Dark Matter Pro is more than worth it. I hope you agree!

WordPress is the most widely used open source weblog / CMS tool but it's not really made for photography. While you can definitely run a photography portfolio site in WordPress it's still somewhat of a kludge. The reason is that WordPress' base entity is a textual post. This post may have images in it but everything still revolves around textual entries. Pixelpost is truly image based. Every entry starts with uploading an image. The rest is of secondary importance. Both archives and full entry views are image based which makes Pixelpost the tool of choice for running a photography/imagery based portfolio site or weblog. Combined with the features of Dark Matter Pro this results in the ultimate online photography platform.
